Quarry Hill Orchards is in its 3rd generation of operations, maintaining 130 acres of apples, peaches, plums, pears, nectarines and grapes. But it’s more than just fruit we offer. Come out and join us for a taste of fresh produce and, just maybe, an opportunity to reconnect with a more patient way of life… a bygone routine not of hasty meals and traffic jams, but of wagging tails, a firm hand shake and a crisp bite of a freshly picked apple. Slow food… if you will. Quarry Hill is passionate about cultivating meaningful relationships. As you peruse our selection of home-grown fruit and vegetables from area friends, you will no doubt, be greeted by Bill. He runs the show and is often seen passing out free samples to patrons or chatting with old friends that happen by to restock for the week. But make your selections quick… our two golden retrievers (London and Walter) won’t be far away. They are noted for their playful demeanor and ferocious appetite for apples, peaches and pears.
In addition to our offerings in the orchard market, stop out and visit some of the other things we’ve got going on at the farm. We offer some of the following activities (Feel free to give us a call to discuss in more detail): • Guided Tours (Schools, Churches, Adult groups, Scouting, etc.) • Weekend Wagon Rides • Pick-Your-Own Apples, Peaches, Cherries • Pumpkin Patch • Junior Farmer Activity Area • Photo opportunities with our fierce guard dogs, London and Walter (not so fierce, really)
We partnered with local wine maker, Mac MacLelland, in 2008 to create Quarry Hill Winery. We now have a new winery building complete with tasting room, outdoor patio, cozy fireplace and live music every weekend. Stop up on the hill to enjoy one of our award-winning wines paired with a great appetizer as you look out on the orchard and vineyard.
Quarry Hill is fortunate to have 1,300 acres of pristine public parkland accessable from the farm. Extend your visit with a walk through the well-groomed 20 miles of trails. Here you can enjoy the over 400 species of plants and 100 species of birds that have been identified in a number of habitats ranging from dense deciduous forest to upland meadows to native wetlands.
Hope to see you this harvest season!
